[31.01.2012]

My second lesson of the new semester today - It was good!
I very much like what I am doing with my life right now, learning Japanese and being here at University is possibly one of the best choices I have made so far.

It's just a shame I am rubbish at social interactions!
There are some pretty interesting people in my Classes, I just don't have the guts to talk to them properly.
I may not appear shy, in fact I most likely appear cold, in reality I really am just scared of what to say in case it's uninteresting or absurd.

Maybe this will mend itself in time?
Already since being here I am a lot better than I ever was.

[08.01.2012]

Right now I am at my Mum's house!
I haven't stayed here since she moved and got engaged but it's okay.
Seeing all the animals is good - I missed Maud the cat a great deal!

Interesting things happening in the UK Visual Kei fandom at the moment.
D aren't coming back here this tour, I am not overly surprised. I would have been more surprised if they did come back! But I was glad I got to see them last time so I'm not too fussed.

LM.C are coming back, but they really aren't my thing anymore. I saw them back in 2009 and had fun, but I won't be going this year.

I was kinda hoping for bands like -OZ-, Lynch., or Matenrou Opera to come here this year.
Although if this doesn't happen I'll hopefully see all three this summer in Japan!

I SERIOUSLY want to see Girugamesh again though.
I need to pre-order their DVD too!

[01.01.2012]

What a triumphant way to start 2012, than the new episode of Sherlock.
Sheer perfection in a television series.

Most other things I watch now seem simply inferior. Moffat you genius.

Well, on to other things,
I've been at "home" since the 19th now, and it seems to be going quicker than I expected.
Living out of boxes and bags is frustrating.
But I seem to be spending most hours of my days playing Zelda: Skyward Sword, and staring longingly at the bottle of Jack Daniels sitting on the mantel piece in my room.

I have no idea what I am doing the rest of the week, but at some point I should attempt some of the Japanese work I have been given for the holidays.

Unfortunately at the minute summoning the want to do so is a nigh impossible task.
But I'll get it done, quite possibly in one day if I can be bothered.

Until the next time.

[04.12.2011]

Livejournal is pretty much dead - and tumblr for me lacks warmth.
Therefore! I created a blog here instead.

I am a Japanese Studies degree student in my first year at Oxford Brookes University!
So far I am enjoying it very much, I had a gap year in which I discovered that if I am not learning then I simply am not happy so University has been welcomed as the next phase of my life.

Although it'll soon be the end of semester one and I'm going to miss my English top up module seminar Lecturer because she was a good lecturer and I felt I learnt a lot from her. Not to mention for one assessment it required me to read Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, two stories I had been meaning to read for years and simply never had. Having read them now, I can defiknately say they lived up to expectation and shall no doubt be re-reading them over the Christmas holidays.

However Japanese is my main focal point!
For those wondering why I would want to learn the language, it's because to me it's a beautiful language, and Japan is an interesting country. My obvious love for Japanese music has fueled this there is no doubt about it.
I'm pretty interested in the Visual Kei scene, although anything that's more rock (and metal) than pop grabs my attention almost immediately.

Currently I have been listening to Galneryus, 摩天楼オペラ, and ギルガメッシュ.

Until next time, Sleep tight.
